Video research lab Aalborg (VILA)
VILA stands for 'Video research Lab Aalborg University' - a cross-faculty initiative supported through DIGHUMLAB's theme 3 and the Department of Learning and Philosophy. VILA brings together experts from several research domains at Aalborg University working with digital video production as well as analysis, to facilitate knowledge creation and sharing of best practices across research communities who work with video data collection, production and analysis – both locally and nationally.

Available hardware and software
VILA has several hardware- and software solutions available for video editing and analytical purposes. These include: Adobe Creative Cloud, Transana, CLAN, Elan and Praat and audio/video conversion software. The software is installed on PC's that have sufficient computing power for big projects. Tools
By sharing knowledge and experience with researchers at Aalborg University, the members of VILA aim to guide researchers in their visual data collection process. As a result, we have developed tools for you to use in your data collection- and analysis.
Online courses
VILA offers guidance and support to researchers at Aalborg University, but we also provide a variety of online courses to help encourage and support researchers in their data collection and analysis.
In particular, we develop online courses and video tutorials to demonstrate how to use the latest data capturing- and analysis tools available at VILA. Below you will see a list of the courses available, free to use for researchers at Aalborg University.
